Starz to pay for Tribute to Spartacus's Andy Whitfield
Andy Whitfield Starz intends to pay tribute to Andy Whitfield, the first kind star of Spartacus: Bloodstream and Sand who died a week ago following a fight with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Spartacus star Andy Whitfield dies of lymphoma at 39 Beginning Sunday, March. 2 at 9/8c, Starz will air five episodes featuring Whitfield's most-memorable performances, such as the series premiere and Season 1 finale. Whitfield, who had been virtually unknown to American audiences when he was cast within the lead from the graphically violent and sexual Starz series, died Sept. 10. Starz then created the six-episode prequel series Spartacus: Gods from the Arena while Whitfield searched for treatment. Whitfield was declared cancer-free in May 2010 however in September of this same year Starz introduced that Whitfield's cancer had came back and also the show would move ahead without him. In The month of january, Liam McIntyre was introduced as Whitfield's alternative within the title role.
