The 2012 Golden Globes Were...Fine
The 2012 Golden Globes came and gone, and regrettably, they did very little else on top of that. Should you requested many people to recount their most favorite moments from Sunday's telecast, you will for sure learn about Seth Rogen's poorly-timed erection or even the challenge Madonna extended to Ough Gervais. (We'd have run too.) But apart from a couple of memorable surprises, the Golden Globes resided as much as their status and did very little else. Gervais came back to host the show after his performance finally year's honors stirred the type of debate the in the past mild award show frantically need. Predictably, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association wanted Gervais back, however the Ough we've got was much more reserved than we had this past year. When the HFPA desired to draw attention by having an edgy Gervais, they have to allow him to from the leash. Now all they need to show for this are complaints the host required simple to use. Personally, I figured Gervais carried out well using the (regrettably) almost no time he was handed. You cannot pay attention to him tell a Attacking Young Boys-poultry baster joke and say he lost his edge. The Globes also didn't have sense at all of intrigue if this found the honours themselves, especially in the film groups. Both nominations and those who win performed towards the same safe, star-embracing template the HFPA makes by itself. Meryl Streep won for "Iron Lady," a movie loved by without any one. Predictably, "The Artist" obtained wins for the best Picture and finest Actor within the comedy/drama groups. The evening wasn't without its vibrant spots. Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy designed a great situation on their own as co-hosts from the 2013 Globes. Scorsese required home a properly-deserved Globe for pointing "Hugo," a preliminary dark equine that only lately moved toward the leading from the pack. "The Descendants" gained a Best Picture - Drama Globe along with a Best Actor - Drama award for that always suave George Clooney. Though they were one of the faves within their particular groups, the wins came back a few of the HFPA's credibility. What have you think about the Golden Globes?
